Contractors
Share your professional expertise
As a contractor, your work is valued by many different organisations, normally through a contract. With this, you’ll find yourself facing issues like IR35 compliance, and managing your annual income through a tax return.
With an accountant by your side, we’ll help you navigate through these financial burdens, and keep you compliant and ready for your next job.
IR35 (or off-payroll working rules) is legislation that is designed to prevent self-employed people working through a limited company to enjoy a lax tax treatment while reaping the benefits of disguised employment.
By being ‘inside’ IR35 you’ll be taxed and pay National Insurance like any normal employee. The legislation continues to change for IR35, which makes it a nightmare to navigate, especially if you’re doing it yourself. We’ll help you to understand these rules, work through the changes, and prevent any unnecessary stress or issues with HMRC.
If you’re a sole trader, you’ll need to send off your personal income tax self-assessment return by the 31st of January (this can be filed digitally).
If you work in a limited company (personal service company) you’ll need to file a corporation tax return alongside your annual accounts. We’ll help you put these together, and find any reliefs or allowances you may be eligible for.
And all of this will be managed through cloud accounting software, which will tie in nicely with your bookkeeping – we’ll manage your expenses, receipts and invoices.
